San Jose Repertory Theatre

, Posted by admin

San Jose Repertory Theatre was founded in 1980 by lifelong Santa Clara County resident James Reber. With assistance from the San Jose Fine Arts Commission, the company produced its first season at the 537-seat Montgomery Theater in 1981. Shortly thereafter, the subscription base skyrocketed, making it one of the fastest growing theatres in the United States.

The Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Jose in partnership with the Rep has constructed a state-of-the art theater on Paseo de San Antonio. This will be the permanent home of the San Jose Repertory Theatre and allow the company to expand its artistic vision and scope.
