Career Highlights: Achieved success in 1901 as “Madame Trentoni” in Clyde Fitch’s Captain Jinks of the Horse Marines. Played Shakespeare’s “Juliet” and “Portia”, Dumas fil’s “Camille”, and Ibsen’s “Nora” in A Doll’s House.

Career Totals: Over 20 stage roles and more than 36 films.

Scouting Report: Younger sister to Lionel Barrymore and older sister to John Barrymore, Ethel was a tall and beautiful woman esteemed for her acting as well as her remarkable eyes. She played in Vaudeville in The Twelve Pound Look, and did much film and radio work. In 1928 she opened the Ethel Barrymore Theater in New York with The Kingdom of God, in which she played “Sister Garcia.”
