Scouting Report: Harold Arlen began his music career when he joined the choir at the synogogue where his father was a cantor. He then became a pianist, working on lake steamboats and playing in night clubs. He worked in New York as a jazz singer, an arranger, and finally a composer.

Fun Statistic: Arlen wrote the song “Tatoo’d Lady” which was Groucho Marx’s theme song.
